Singapore Day Event Video 2017, Melbourne

Singapore Day is celebrated with a lot of pomp and fervour in Australia and is among those highly anticipated events of the year. For the 2017 celebrations, Two Story was chosen as the official photography and video partner. The event took place on the 9th September at the Flemington Race Course in Melbourne, and needless to say was a rather scintillating affair.  Our deliverables included, extensive photo coverage, with highlights photos to be shared within hours of the event concluding.  We were also required to provide a highlights video.

Now for a few event details:

Duane was the Creative Director and Logistics head for the event. All up, we had a crew of 5 to cover every aspect of the project; 2 Photographers, 2 Videographers & 1 Creative Director + Drone Pilot.

A lot of planning and pre-production activity was required for this gig. We had extensive meetings, prepared timetables, pre-prepared animations, and also managed logistics. And on the day of the event, our timetable (or schedule) of coverage was akin to a military style timetable. The event required interviews with eminent government dignitaries within extremely strict time-frames. We interviewed the deputy prime minister of Singapore, Teo Chee Hean, and several other ministers present during the event.

Our extensive gear included:

Multiple Canon’s – 5D MK4 BODY’s, MK3’s, 2 x Nikon D8 body’s, Sony A7s, 16-35mm, 24-70mm, and 70-200mm lenses

DJI Mavic Pro – Drone aerials

Slider, Monopod, Fluid Video Camera head attachment

Wireless Sennheiser Lapel Mic + Transmitter

Wireless Hand microphone, headphones, Shotgun MIC,

1 LED Light Panel, Tripod, Light Stands

In post-production, we were able to put together a first version for the clients  to review within a short span of 24 hours. Following feedback and changes, we turned in the final Singapore Day Event Video about two weeks later. The clients have loved it and will use it for all their future advertising and marketing activities.
