PROJECT FEATURE: IMAGINE – THE STATE LIBRARY OF NSW
Two Story had the pleasure and honour to work for an Australian institution: the State Library of New South Wales. We were commissioned to create a film that would bring to life and personalise the people and processes involved in making picture books for an exhibition aptly named “Imagine : The Wonder of Picture Books”.
For the film, Two Story interviewed six of Australia’s most renowned authors/illustrators of picture books over the course of two days, with the purpose of seeking out the inspiration and process behind their beloved children’s books.
All the interviews were filmed on location at the State Library against a green screen background and using a professional 4K camera with cine lenses with studio lighting. For the final film, Two Story animated two-dimensional illustrations from the books in the background to create lively yet subtle elements to complement – and not distract from – what each artist was talking about.
Two Story is proud to partner with the State Library of NSW to promote reading and fueling the imagination for the young and young at heart. On a personal note, this project is close to the heart of our Creative Director Duane Robinson as these were the same books that he has been reading to his kids for years.
“Imagine: The Wonder of Picture Books” exhibition runs at the State Library of NSW until 09 July 2023. For more information, visit their website.
